I just flash a confident reassuring smile and move on without a comment about what they touched. Seems to work for me as not one time has anyone commented on it.

Re: What if someone finds out?
I got 'outed' a couple of days before Christmas at the local Costco here in Houston. I had picked up a new camera, but all the boxes on the shelf were empty boxes that needed to be traded out in the secure room up front after checkout.
When the clerk got me the replacement 'full box', he noticed that I'd picked up some black dust on my shirt sleeve (probably toner or something similar), and he picked up a towel to wipe it off. As he reached for my sleeve, I raised my arm to give him easier access, and he ducked under to get the side of my shirt first.
I carry IWB at 3 o'clock, and that's exactly where he hit - first touch. You could tell from the look on his face that he knew exactly what he'd just hit. He withdrew immediately, and apologized.
I pulled back and said (in a friendly tone), "Hey there - be careful." He gave me a reassuring nod, and the hole thing was done - and forgotten - in seconds.

Your best option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.

That sounds like a good contact. imagine the 180 where the clerk starts screaming " he has a gun. "Vol Texan wrote:I got 'outed' a couple of days before Christmas at the local Costco here in Houston.
