Vermont to Require NON-Gun Owners to Pay a Fine

Vermont to Require NON-Gun Owners to Pay a Fine

Lack health insurance protection under Obamacare, pay a tax/fine
Lack personal protection+property protection by not owning a firearm, pay a tax/fine

Sounds constitutional enough ...

HOW ABOUT VERMONT? … register “non-gun-owners” and require them to pay a $500 fee to the state
Vermont State Rep. Fred Maslack has read the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, as well as Vermont ‘s own Constitution very carefully, and his strict interpretation of these documents is popping some eyeballs in New England and elsewhere.

Maslack recently proposed a bill to register “non-gun-owners” and require them to pay a $500 fee to the state. Thus Vermont would become the first state to require a permit for the luxury of going about unarmed and assess a fee of $500 for the privilege of not owning a gun.

That's GREAT! Hope it catches on and wakes up the Dems!

Maybe all States should penalize their Representatives with a TAX for not doing what they were sent there to do!

Violate the constitution, pay a fine.

Should be a pretty stiff fine at that.

If that were the case, our esteemed Commander In Chief, President Barrak Hussein Obama, President For Life, Leader of the Free World, Source of All That Is Hope and Change, would owe a wheelbarrow full.

It does follow the same logic

If those without health Insurance are getting 100% of their protection bill paid by *us* taxpayers to *protect them* from disease, bad times, mitigating their monetary loss/medical expenses/injuries ...

If those without a gun for self protection are getting 100% of their protection bill paid for by *us* taxpayers to *protect them* from bad times, mitigating their monetary loss/medical expenses/injuries ...

(the drawback is the list of all persons not required to pay a fine ... like a database of Insured by license plate .... too easy to have a database of gun owners)

Yea, this might be a good revenue generator for States as well. Just track their every vote and tax them $2,000.00 for EVERY VOTE that violates the Constitution! :thumbs2:

Ten days to pay after voting and if not paid within that time, interest starts (and big interest percentage too).

That would wake all of them up!

I used to ride motorcycles in Northern Vermont. There are a group of
trouble makers that call themselves the Mountain Men .
Do yourself a favor and avoid them at all cost

You need a gun in Vermont and you can carry without a License. :cheers2:
Note expect Harassment from LEO in Vermont if you carry :reddevil

Note: keep your gun out of neighboring states MA, NY

If going to New Hampshire get an out of state permit to carry it costs about 100.00
to get an out of state NH permit you must have a permit from your home state

Note: Most N.H. Leo don't like citizens carry with a permit expect harassment :tiphat:

This story is a decade old. Maslack is no longer a Vermont rep.
