Life is hard for a recording engineer

I run sound for our synagogue. When I'm out sick I always get tons of emails from people complaining about the sound and how they wish I was there and to get better soon and come back. When I'm there and everything sounds good, I never get compliments. And I'm just an amateur!

The real Sound Engineers are vastly under-appreciated!

So, maybe every karaoke bar should be required to have a sound engineer to smooth out the vomitous screeching and caterwauling?

I have nothing to base this on, but it is my belief that this is simply because whenever a tonal sound approaches absolute perfection, the less the human psyche is able to relate to it.

Some say Cindy Crawford would not have been nearly as successful without her mole.

I don't think there are any sound engineers with enough of a masochistic streak to do this.

You would have to pay me a ton of money and I would still just pawn it off on my assistant ...

Maybe so but karaoke fans are preferable to sports fans any day of the week, and especially on any given Sunday.

Sports fans that paint their faces for the BIG game after which they repair to yowl at karaoke bars is a sport akin to professional wrasslin...one I'd pay not to watch/listen to.
