Lanza changed magazines frequently as he fired his way through the first-grade classrooms of Lauren Rousseau and Victoria Soto, sometimes shooting as few as 15 shots from a 30-round magazine, sources said.
VT and Columbine shooters also had 10 round magazines. So, 10 round magazines would have solved exactly what?

Back in the 70's, 9 of us had a big deer lease between Sonora and Junction. One day while we were out hunting we heard a bunch of shots from an area where "Ol' George" was hunting. 5 shots... then a pause... then 5 more. When we got back to the house, George had a nice buck hanging up from the rafter, and while eating supper, somebody asked him how many shots it took him. He replied "just one". Everybody started laughing and told him we heard him empty his rifle twice. He said "Oh, well I shot once to get his attention...8 times to clear out the brush he was hiding behind...then my usual "one shot kill".

i completely expected you to finish by him simply saying, well, i only hit him once and that's all it took but this was much better!
