I've never been to or spent money at a Cabela's, but after reading this and that report of them leaving that show up North because they couldn't advertise or display "black rifles" (or something like that), I think I'll make a point to give them some business in the future. They seem like good Pro-2A folks.

Make a day trip of it.

Load up on kolaches for breakfast.

Straight up 35. . . veer left in Hillsboro.

On the way home, exit NE 28th and go to the stockyards. . . grab a some all-you-can-eat beef ribs at Risky's for $9.99, a Love Shack dirty bird burger, or some Joe T. Garcia's for your time.

My roommate and I make trips to the D/FW area once or twice per month. I'll make sure Cabela's is on the list of planned stops the next time we go.

As for the food: That all sounds tasty, but since my bariatric surgery last August, I can't really do that. lol. I've lost 130 pounds (and counting) since then, so it isn't all bad.

35 mpg in my current whip.

Looking forward to getting up there again for this soon.

Late to the party, and will admit I did not read all 6 pages (just the first, actually).

I hate it that this happened, based upon what was written in the OP. Sounds like the buyer got the shaft.

I sold firearms at a large store for several years long ago. One of the things we always worried about and watched for was an over-zealous ATF agent trying to catch us being lax in our judgement when selling.

I wonder if there had been a previous bad experience in the past at this store/with the manager, and his radar is hyper-active?

I still think the customer got the shaft, but in an environment like this, I can also understand the store's concern.

My wife and I were at Academy (last week) buying a gun for her. I was very careful to never touch the gun and never say anything that would make the store personnel think for a second that it was in any way for me. I walked in the store worried that this could happen, even though the gun really was for her.

This story proves I was not paranoid (at least not without reason)!
