Changing Jobs During the CHL Application Process

Post by maddenjc »

All,

I started my CHL application process / training about a month ago. I did the online application, got my fingerprints, compelted my CHL training, and have sent in all paperwork. The DPS website hasn't changed status yet saying they've recieved anything, but I understand that their status updating might not be 100% accurate.

I now find myself in the situation of changing jobs--this Friday is my last day at my current employer and I'm starting a new job the following Monday. My concern is that this will affect the background / processing of my CHL.

Are my concerns valid? If so, what should I do to inform them (DPS) of the new employment information to make sure things move as smoothly as possible?

Thanks everyone in advance!!!

I would send them an email and call it a day. Others might prefer a registered letter.

I don't think they contact employers for a reference. They just want to know where to check local criminal records.
