Today, while en-route to Collectors Firearms, I noticed on the highway signs, that there was a gun show at George R Brown.
So I decided to stop, and see if I could pick up an M&P 45 full size for same or better pricing than Collectors Firearms quoted over the phone.
Short answer, they had lots of M&P 9's and 40's, but no .45s.
but as I was walking around, I had a thought that I hadn't noticed the standard 30.06 sign outside the hall or in the hall lobby.
Of course, knowing that they are always posted, I left my M&P9 in my car.
On the way out the door, I stopped and talked to a deputy sheriff, and asked about the sign, he said that some of the officers noticed the sign wasnt up either, and they were checking on that, but he believed that they intentionally did not put up the 30.06 sign.
I hope they intentionally did not put the sign out and I hope they will continue to NOT post the gun shows on government owned property (or any property really!)
So if you are going tomorrow to the GRB, before you drop your gun in your car, take a drive by the hall and check for the 30.06, if none, carry away!!

I noticed the lack of an unenforceable 30.06 today at GRB, too. Unless it was buried behind the masses, I think some lackey forgot.

Re: GRB Gun Show today / 30.06 sign missing
Never understood why they have 30.06 signs up in the first place. Seems a little ironic seeing as how most of us will intentionally go out of our way to not go into places that have it posted.

That is an interesting change. Would be nice if it were a trend.
Hmmm, what would the ramifications be of intentionally unconcealing in an event like this to see if some holster fit right or an attachment fit okay when many of the shows I've been to recently have vendors openly carrying zip-tied handguns?

I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

Wait....! Where is the army of insurance adjusters descending on the sponsors of the show to remove their coverage for not posting an un-enforceable 30.06 sign. We've all been told, in no uncertain terms, that gun show insurers contractually REQUIRE the specific language of 30.06, especially at locations where it has no legal effect.

4/13/1996 Completed CHL Class, 4/16/1996 Fingerprints, Affidavits, and Application Mailed, 10/4/1996 Received CHL, renewed 1998, 2002, 2006, 2011, 2016...). "ATF... Uhhh...heh...heh....Alcohol, tobacco, and GUNS!! Cool!!!!"

I did not see a sign either, however, did anyone see the Lone Protester??? He stood right across the street at the crosswalk and had a cardboard sign reading "Why no background checks?" and the other side said "Car registered? Why not your guns?"Z1166 wrote:I noticed the lack of an unenforceable 30.06 today at GRB, too. Unless it was buried behind the masses, I think some lackey forgot.![]()

I thought for a moment that I should answer both of his questions, but I figured it would go in one ear and out the other. He was a clean-cut, middle-aged, tall, skinny, white male that looked completely normal... so, it was a good reminder that even the insane blend in well.
