Been almost 2 months

Post by thenick_ttu »

Hey folks. I just found this website and boy do I wish I had found it before starting the CHL process. Anyway, I sent off mine and my wife's paperwork in early December. She got her license a few weeks ago but mine is still "under review." I do have a couple MIPs and a DUI from my college days but I haven't been in trouble in over 7 years and I disclosed everything on my application.

Does anyone have any experience with a situation like mine? Should I be worried that I won't qualify? Is there anything I can do at this point to speed up the process?

None of my infractions were that big of a deal (in my opinion) and they were quite a long time ago. Besides, my previous run ins with the law didn't stop the state from giving me a CPA license.

Thanks in advance!

Big difference in working with numbers or working with a gun. ;-) (j/k)

As for the MIP/DUI's, what were the dates of each? And was it a DWI or DUI (DWI 21 or older, DUI under 21 in Texas.) If you have been convicted of two or more alcohol or drug-related offenses within the last 10 years, you may not be eligible.

All of my offenses happend before I turned 21. In fact, I think my last one was in 2003. I didn't know that about having more than two in 10 years. I may be in some trouble then as I had 4 total in 4 years (3 MIPs, 1 DUI). oops :banghead: Well, at least my wife can protect us if any crap ever goes down.

Yeah, that may be what's holding it up. Just hope that since you have not had any in the past 7 that they consider the 5 year window clear and maybe you will be OK. Hang in there and keep your fingers crossed! :thumbs2:

And, welcome to the forum. :tiphat:

I also am waiting on mine, still haven't even changed my status to received. I have been arrested for 2 dwi's (2007, 2009) but they were both dropped. I'm just worried that they will see the arrests and consider me chemically dependant even though the cases were dismissed and deny me. Please let me know your outcome when you find out, good luck!

Well I was a bit worried about everything considering my lenghty background. I answered everything truthfully and sent all court judgments with my packet and BG review took a little longer than everybody else but I finally changed to manufacture pending today. Just answer honestly and everything should be alright.
