I just sent a comment to NRA-ILA asking them why they don't have a continuing contribution option. I have the Heritage Foundation electronically withdraw money from my account each month. I think if the NRA-ILA has that option, they'd get a lot of additional donations.

That is a pretty good idea!!! I would approve a monthly charge. I do it with all kinds of stuff. Then they could quit spending money sending me mail every month asking for donations. I hope they take into consideration! :thumbs2:

I'll see how things go as far as not getting trash mail from the NRA. I really want to see my funds go toward more important things other than renewal notices. I've seen enough replies on this topic that my mind has changed . . . didn't think that would happen when I started this topic.

I'm weird. I like the "junk mail" even if it's mostly used to start the evenings fire.

Yes! Thank you.

Only a few days ago, I upgraded my NRA membership to Patron.

The NRA-ILA, though, is the only arm of the NRA that can do political lobbying. Our NRA membership dollars do not fund the NRA-ILA.

I certainly didn't see where you can become a life member for 300 bucks....must have missed something, as I just got my renewal notice today.

I just renewed and also sent a donation to the NRA-ILA. I'd much rather send that than to political campaigns

To put the junk mail into perspective, the NRA doesn't hold a candle to the Affinity Group. They are the ones that own Camping World, Good Sam's Club (you have to be into RVs to understand), etc. I think their goal is to kill a tree per person per month. I finally had to become a special Good Sam member so that I could get to the special part of their website and kill all of the solicitation. It took over 6 months to get it all stopped. My mailman has had a smile on his face ever since.

Still says 600, which is why I was surprised to see the 300 dollar number on this thread

Then all you have to do is call them, tell them so saw the offer online, but it shows the wrong price.

To the time of this post, being a member of the NRA isn't working out too well. I'm getting lots of NRA emails, but the NRA has yet to tell me what my member number is so that I can stop the emails.

I emailed the NRA last Friday, and have yet to receive a reply. I'll wait a few more days and see if I get a response. I most certainly am not going to pick up the phone and call! :totap:

Every email I have seen from them has a link at the bottom on how to unsubscribe, no member number needed. I understand the frustration everyone has but with thousands of people joining and a hard road being traveled to protect our rights, is it really that big of a deal? I am still owed a few things myself but I would personally rather they focus on keeping my rights as they are doing. I'll get my stuff when I get it, it's not why I joined anyways.

I don't ever get excessive mail from NRA. Use your spam filter and you would be okay.
