I can see a time when lets say California decides that maybe you can leave their state, but your income can't, or they just flat say you cant leave with your money if your rich enough. Or the lefties decide travel is too polluting and prohibit interstate travel, or require permits like they did in Russia.

A ballot proposal is underway in California that would amend the State Constitution with a Wealth Tax. Specifically, this is an additional tax to be levied against high valued property, and high income (between 36.5% - 54.3% one-time tax) should a resident die, or decide to leave the State of California.
