MD: Today's responsible gun owner

Post by seamusTX »

In College Park, Maryland (suburb of Washington, D.C.), early Tuesday morning, a University of Maryland student reportedly allegedly fatally shot his two roommates in the culmination of an argument. He then reportedly allegedly shot himself with non-fatal results.

It seems like at least one incident of this sort occurs every day (on a slow day).

"In other news, hundreds of millions of guns went an entire day without killing anyone..." - Said no media outlet ever.

The deceased "suspect" in this case, a 23-year-old student, allegedly, reportedly, according to people who said they knew him, had a history of mental illness.

A police spokesman said that the "suspect" had purchased at least one handgun legally. Maryland has strict firearms regulations that are intended to make it a peaceful haven of tranquility and joy.

I've pointed out many times that people (males, mostly) with schizophrenia and related problems often seem to resort to violence and suicide in their late teens or early 20s. Usually they have a history of erratic behavior and involvement with the legal system.

I have no idea what to do about any of this.
