I wouldn't let an employer search my car so it's a moot point.

Are you willing to lose you job to stand your ground? I work for a large worldwide corporation that has similar rules to EKO's (although we are not required to sign forms). They have non compliant (with 30.06) signs posted that state nobody is allowed to possess a weapon even if licensed. I have given serious thought to what I will do after I get my plastic. I disagree whole heartedly with their policy and know I could not be legally charged for carrying, but what it comes down to, is I can not afford to sacrafice my career. I have devoted many years to this company and they have treated me well. So, I am just going to grudgingly comply.

And yes, their ploicy allows for searches of persons and vehicles too. I have had mine searched on a few occasions.

I do understand where you come from as if it is your career job. Mine was a job at the moment, so I am willing to lose my job to save my life. I wont give up my rights just for a company that would turn thier head to save a dollar.

This is the same boat ask EKO and myself are in. We have an option of parking in public parking at hopping a ride to our building. I won't be signing any form to park in company parking.

This is a Glock 40. Fifty Cent. Too Short. All of them talk about a Glock 40. OK?
I'm the only one in this forum fool enough - that I know of - to shoot himself with a Glock 40.

Stated in those terms, it's a no brainer. But realistically you have to look at probabilities. What is the probability that I will have to use a gun to defend myself at work (very, very, low) vs. what is the probability that my employer will discover the fact that I am violating company policy by carrying at work, and fire me? As I stated in a previous post, I have been thru several random searches over the years, that, with the possibility that someone see's my gun and runs to HR, pose a much higher probability of actually occurring.

My circumstances, my opinion. Your situation or priorities may be very different and I respect that.

I carry with an ankle holster. Good luck seeing that one.

Also I won't leave my gun in my car, because it could be broken into and I lose the gun and out of money for a gun. Also, if I leave it at home. Lose a gun, but insurance hopefully will take care of that one.

Lol, the car is covered, I was thinking more of job related. As in, your car gets broken into while working. The job says "uhh tough luck."

Car contents would be a home insurance claim, not a car insurance one. My home insurance deductible is higher than the value of many of my guns.

One of our Brethren wrote an email and asked if it was against policy for a CHL holder to have a weapon in the parking lot. The reply said to follow the old policy until things are worked out concerning the new policy and addenda.

Now I have to wonder if the contractors will be signing the form. I'm parking in the contractors parking lot, I don't have a parking sticker to park in the lot across the street :coolgleamA:

Most of the CHL's I know park in the contractors parking lot anyway

Let's say that I am an employer.

Let's say that I have a Company policy, which every employee including you, signs a statement they have read and understand, that no weapons are permitted on Company Property and that violation of that policy is grounds for immediate termination.

The Parking Lot Law says you can have your weapon in your locked vehicle in my parking lot.

You choose to bring a weapon onto my property outside of your vehicle and it is discovered.

You are fired for violation of Company Policy.

Do you have any right to whine, complain or otherwise object?
