What is a good holster for the XDS 45?

I bought mine from The Holster Store. They have quite a selection and very well priced.longhorn_92 wrote:What is a good holster for the XDS 45?

Re: XDS 45 vs G36
Here's another vote for a Springer XDS. I love mine. 5 + 1 of .45 ACP in the pocket, or 7 + 1 of .45 ACP
on the hip - what's not to love?
We all have different philosophies on our EDC's. Although I have carried 9MM's until the XDS, I always knew
I would move UP in caliber eventually.
When I look at those CUTE little .380 rounds, and think about how they might not penetrate deeply enough into
a large, crazed threat, I just don't understand why anyone would not move up to a 9MM, a .40, or a .45.
Now that the XDS is available in "the manly round", pocket .380's just seems like yesterday's news to me, IMHO.
As the Springer XDS ads say ".380 - it was a cute fad". Did the WWII soldier win the war with a .380 sidearm?
YMMV.

Re: XDS 45 vs G36
As of 3/13/13, at 425 PM, Bullet Trap in Plano, Texas had one bi-tone XDS in stock for $589.99.
I thought anyone perusing this thread might want to jump on it quickly if they want one.
Bullet Trap's phone number is 972-881-0372. They have a website, but they don't
appear to list their "current inventory" as Grab a Gun in Coppell, and some other places do.
Happy shopping, shootists.

I picked up a XDs a couple weeks ago and love it. Hope someone on the forum grabs this one.

Re: XDS 45 vs G36
I'd second TAM on the suggestion of Kahr as something else to look at. The CW45 is great with more grip length. However, if quick follow up shots is what you are looking for, the Kahr has a long trigger with a full length reset, so you'd have to get used to that.
I'm waiting for S&W to come out with a Shield in 45 or SA to come out with a 3.8" or 4" bbl. I'd prefer a commander length barrel for the slow moving .45. I've heard some complaints about recoil in the XDs, but I haven't been able to get my hands on one to shoot for myself yet.

I have three .45s ... two 1911s and an XDs ... IMHO, the recoil is about the same ... I love the XDs, plan to replace my PM9 with it for EDC as soon as I get a few more rounds through it ... shoot one before you reject it ...

Same here - picked up an all-black XDS at Bullet Trap in Plano about 10 days ago. Nice shooting, to me less felt recoil than my PF9. Much, much, much better trigger pull.jmra wrote:I picked up a XDs a couple weeks ago and love it. Hope someone on the forum grabs this one.

Re: XDS 45 vs G36
The Kahr PM45 is also worth a look. It's very close to the size of the XDs, light, and easy to carry. The trigger reset point has never been an issue for me because with these tiny guns, muzzle rise is greater than with the larger ones. Rapid fire rate is limited by how fast you can get the muzzle down from recoil and back on target. There's lots of time in there (well, not lots but enough of a fraction of a second) to operate the trigger properly and achieve a very respectable rate of fire.xb12s wrote:I'd second TAM on the suggestion of Kahr as something else to look at. Re: XDS 45 vs G36
As strange as this sounds all of my Glock 26 holsters seem to fit my XDs like a glove. Oh and I'm another XDs lover BTW, as a matter of fact this lil gun won me over so much that all I now have left of the G26 is the holsters.longhorn_92 wrote:What is a good holster for the XDS 45?

Re: XDS 45 vs G36
I can shoot my G30 all day. Shoots great and very accurate. I have had no problem shooting 250 rounds at one time at the range. I have shot a G23C and it was snappy to me.

Re: XDS 45 vs G36
I have fired the G30 the G26, XD 45 , and XDS.
I shoot an FNX 9 in uspsa open, and a 1911 steel frame in single stack.
I have heard many make remarks such as "the XDs recoils like a 9mm" or that it has less recoil than a heavier pistol.
To me, the Xds is no doubt a snappy gun (so are some 9mms), but it is not a light recoiling weapon that is good for quick double taps if you are not well practiced.
I believe the bore line on the xds does facilitate less percieved recoil with proper grip. Just know its no 9mm.
