Ice Chest Test

Post by puma guy »

For all the camper's and hunters here I thought this would be useful. A review of what these guys call high end coolers. The Coleman and Igloo don't cost nearly as much as the others so I wouldn't call them high end. Igloo has introduced an ice chest to compete with Yeti that is called the Yukon. That's what my neighbor who works for them told me, anyway. I haven't seen one. I have been an Igloo fan since they were introduced and probably sold 10000 back when I worked in sporting goods. They were guaranteed for life back then. I also had Coleman coolers back in the day. I especially liked the old Coleman 3 way metal cooler. I was surprised by the results on the Coleman Extreme.

Edit: Igloo introduced the Yukon in May 2011, but I don't remember seeing any at Academy or other stores. I also found a high end ice chest made by an Aggie called Frio Chests.

I haven't watched the vid yet (I'm mobile ATM) but I'm a big fan of Igloo's 7 day marine coolers. I can attest that they work great. 2 years ago our synagogue held our Sukkot at a friend's ranch. We used 2 of the 7 day marine coolers for storing our food. At the end of the 8th day, we still had stuff that was frozen in the bottom of one of them. And no, it wasn't frozen before we loaded the coolers!
