Round Rock police on Monday are searching for two men who tried to rob a Round Rock jewelry store that was robbed in February.
During Monday’s incident, two men wearing hooded sweatshirts entered QT jewelry at 220 Sundance Parkway in Round Rock with guns displayed, said Dee Carver, a spokeswoman for the Round Rock Police Department.
“They yelled ‘We want everything,’” she said. An employee walked from of the back of the store with a gun and fired at the men, Carver said. The suspects, who never fired a shot, fled on foot without taking anything, she said.

Am I a bad person for wanting to open this post and hoping a BG had assumed room temp?

I am assuming adrenaline got the best of the employee causing him to miss. BRASS.

Sure sounds like some range time is past due.
If the 2nd admendment only applies to muskets and muzzle-loaders, then the 1st admentment must apply only to the spoken or printed word. Printing must be done on hand presses, news stories must be written in longhand, no keyboards or electric processes may be used.

Training is needed, however the shots fired produced the basic results needed. Better than no shots.

Carry safe and carry when and where you can. I'm just sayin'.

Double edged sword situation. In making the case to reduce the number of places that concealed carry is prohibited, we've made the argument that CHL holders train & prepare; while also stating the case against magazine restriction by saying that accuracy is decreased during an active shooter situation.texanjoker wrote:That could be a case for needing a high capacity magazineKeith B wrote:Sounds like he gave them all he had.texanjoker wrote:http://www.statesman.com/news/news/crim ... bbe/nXGXW/

Re: robbery - employee firing shots
If you think about it, even though it is a training issue, it's almost better that he missed. If he had shot and killed a bad guy, there would be a grand jury involved. There would be an at least temporary gun confiscation. There would have been the need for a lawyer. There would have been a lot of paperwork. There would have been threats of revenge from the BG's homies. Etc., etc., etc.Seabear wrote:Training is needed, however the shots fired produced the basic results needed. Better than no shots.
We are deprived of hearing about one more BG being rubbed out, but the store clerk got rid of the bad guys AND he avoided a lot of trouble for his efforts.
Win/Win, right?

Another article to send to my wife that wonders if it is necessary to carry at all times! We shop this jeweler! An area that is not accustomed to such antics!

If it was effective without hitting the BG then so be it. It worked and the robbery was stopped. Maybe the thugs will rethink their ways.
It puts a bad light on pro gun advocates when we post things indicating disappointment someone was not shot.
What percentage of shots hit their target when trained police officers fire their weapons?

Re: robbery - employee firing shots
Exactly. Even with "training" hitting the target is a significant challenge when in a heated high pressure situation.
I've experienced the adrenaline dump. Fortunately, my situation ended without me having to fire a shot. I can also say I was not disappointed the BG was not shot.

Re: robbery - employee firing shots
The whole idea of carrying a gun in the first place is to effectively stop a threat. The goal was accomplished in this case without anyone getting hurt so it's a win 100%.
