DENVER — The 4/20 rally being held at Denver’s Civic Center Park was quickly broken up when there were reports of shots fired in the area.
The shooting happened just before 5 p.m. near the east side of the amphitheater.
Denver Police confirmed that one male and one female were shot in the leg and suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Maybe they thought it was one of those cool lighters that look like a gun, and because they were so stoned they kept trying.

True story there I stopped a dude one time that was so stoned he was trying to hide one of those pistol lighters as I walked up on the car. It looked like a gun in his hand to me. Fortunately he complied (slowly) when I had him at gun point and put it down.
