Selling guns to employees

Post by Ericstac »

If you are a business owner or even in management and one of your employees is interested in purchasing a gun from you is there anything you should be concerned about or is it treated just like selling him a radio? Make sure he is allowed to use a radio and he can buy it. ;-)

if you are a gun store, then worry, do the right forms.

if you are any other business, where you are not dealing with guns, as you said, its just a radio

Is it the business selling the gun, or is it the business owner or manager selling his personal property?

Key distinction.

no. its just personal property. im selling one of my EBRs and an employee might be interested. I couldnt think of a reason it might be frowned apon but I wanted to get others opinions. Weapons are not in my industry, except that brief moment when we thought the liberals were going to ban hammers..

You're good to go. Treat it like any other individual firearm sale.

If you trust the employee and they can legally own the rifle, no biggie. I do request a bill of sale be signed from those who are not just my closest of friends. That helps protect them and you if the rifle should ever fall into the wrong hands.

What state are you in? That might make a difference, as well.

Texas :txflag:

I'm in construction. One of my businesses deals with security alarms and we are licensed by TX DPS PSB.
