Time to grab a chair...is this a record?

Post by SQLGeek »

So I'm finally doing it...getting off my duff and actually applying for my CHL. This has to be some kind of record of number of posts on this forum before applying for plastic.

The timing finally worked out for me and I've signed up for a class for next Friday. I have my EDC and holster already, just need a belt and to start wearing it to get comfortable. Also need to find some defense ammo and cycle enough of it to feel comfortable. That might be the challenging part, actually finding the ammo. :???:

I guess we can get the May applicant thread going now too.

LOL. I saw your post under May applications and assumed it was a renewal. Consider submitting your docs online. I did with my renewal and received plastic yesterday (38 days from online app submission). I believe it saved me at least 3 weeks.

It's always been one reason or another for me not finding the time to actually get it all done. I started posting here to learn more about what the CHL process was about and the mindset of those who choose to carry concealed handguns. It's been a great place to hang out and learn quite a bit in the process.

Glad you decided to take the leap.

After hanging out here for 3 yrs you will find your CHL class a bit less informative. I had my first class with Crossfire 4 yrs ago and she was great, however it is like a 2 yrs degree it just a start of all there is to know. In fact it is time for me to renew here shortly.

Good grief, it really has been 3 years. Hard to believe it's been almost 4 since I moved to Texas. I will see how much I've retained form the forum but I also signed up for a class with one of the best so I'm sure there will be plenty to learn still!
