"On or about your person" means something that is physically in contact with your body, in your pocket, purse, or other baggage, or something you can reach without substantially altering your position. There's a load of case law establishing that anything in the passenger compartment of a vehicle is on or about your person.

It is lawyer-speak for "We know that there is going to be a lawyer who is going to try to find a loop hole so we will use this phrase to try to avert the problem".

A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and don't have one, you'll probably never need one again.

It depends. Does her purse match your outfit?

"rlol"

And, does your wife have a CHL? If it's in her purse, she would need a CHL.

Also, I am one who is against women storing their firearm in a purse.

If the handgun is in a purse, the person holding the purse should have a CHL (or be a LEO, etc) unless they're on their own property, in their car, or have some other exception from 46.02 .

The purse carry is also probably the least safe method of carrying. There are a lot of purse snatchers going around and doing a driveby or run by grabbing of a womans purse and never stopping. If the weapon is in the purse, guess what the now have. You just contributed to another BG
