Rich Manhattan moms hire handicapped tour guides so kids can cut lines at Disney World

They are 1 percenters who are 100 percent despicable.

Some wealthy Manhattan moms have figured out a way to cut the long lines at Disney World — by hiring disabled people to pose as family members so they and their kids can jump to the front, The Post has learned.

The “black-market Disney guides” run $130 an hour, or $1,040 for an eight-hour day.

“My daughter waited one minute to get on ‘It’s a Small World’ — the other kids had to wait 2 1/2 hours,” crowed one mom, who hired a disabled guide through Dream Tours Florida.

“You can’t go to Disney without a tour concierge,’’ she sniffed. “This is how the 1 percent does Disney.”
A sure sign that class or lack thereof is no way related to wealth.

Circa 1992 I brought my wheelchair bound grandpa on what was pretty much a last hurrah, to Disney. He never had such a good time, and I'll admit we cut some lines. We had a two day pass, and he was worn out from the day before so it was just my mom and I the next day. We didn't skip the lines, didn't even consider it. I'm adamant that anyone that does this fraudulently is gonna get bit in the booty by the bad karma bug.

Those people are scum.

You don't need to hire anyone. Just rent a wheelchair at Disney. We did that a few years ago. Went on a week family vacation to Disney. My wife suffers from heal spurs and prolong waking becomes very painful. She sucked it up for the first and second day with the help of pain killers. We kept insisting she get a wheelchair, but she did not want to. Too proud. The third day we put our foot down and rented her a wheelchair. Sure makes going through Disney a lot easier. My concience is clear. If someone has a problem with it, tough. But I would not rent a wheelchair just to get ahead of the line.

Reading the article in depth reveals yet another level of this depravity, there is actually an apparently thriving business that exists just to do this. That's even more depraved than the people who use it.

I visit Disney with my family every three years or so. I have no problem with you and grandpa cutting some lines. I, like you, do have a problem with someone renting themselves and their disability out because Disney makes accessibility easier for some who truly need it.

If it is a true member of the family / friend that needs help, fine. OTOH, if it is Ms. One Percent mom from New York, wait like everyone else...

Getting paid $130 per hour to go to Disney sounds like a sweet gig. Where do I sign up?

And that's perfectly legitimate. It's the crassness of cynically hiring someone for their disability so that you can take advantage of it that is so wrong. Like jimlongley said, that there's actually a business that hires these people out is a whole 'nuther level of depravity. And they KNOW it's wrong, which is why they don't want to be identified, and neither do their boorish clients.

Having just returned from a Disney trip 2 weeks ago, I can attest to the whip fest the lines are. You can also buy no wait tickets and utilize the "speed Pass" options, so those upset by this practice should also be as upset at Disney offering higher priced tickets for no waiting... that's no different but the extra money goes to Disney. The whole place is an attempt at emptying your pockets, not a kid only focused venue. I was pretty disappointed at the feeling of being gouged all day long. My son had fun and that is what mattered to me but I doubt I'll ever go back.

They used a manhattan mom for the story above but rest assured, people from the other 49 states (and many other countries) are also doing this. Why not get upset at the handicapped people that "prostitute" themselves out. (hoping that choice of words passes the 10 yr. old daughter rule)

For what it's worth, I'm upset at them too. I don't care if they use those privileges for themselves, but selling it to others is disgusting.

My quest is to be a jerk with a billion dollars. Somehow, I don't think I'll make it.

My mom used to say don't tempt God. Even thinking of doing something this low for something so shallow as cutting line would make me fear He would be sorely tempted to dole out some justice and arrange a wheelchair in my future--and Not the temporary kind.

On one trip to Disney we saw a fairly large "family" with a wheel chair going to the front of the lines. Every time we saw them a different person was in the wheel chair. :fire
