Is everyone OK?

Post by The Annoyed Man »

I was just concerned for those members who live in the Granbury and Cleburne areas in tonight's storms.

It looks like the entire DFW area is getting a good washing and lightning show.

I'm in Grand Prairie, and luckily the cell that came through here didn't end up being all that bad. Had us worried for a little bit, but everything ended up ok.

The cell going through the Granbury/Cleburn area did produce some very damaging weather though. Hope everyone in that area is safe.

My wife and daughter were at our church in Weatherford proper when the one rolled through Millsap heading right toward them. My son and MIL were at home South of town halfway to Cresson when one apparently touched down about a mile to our South in the middle of nothing. We are ok. Had heavy hail, rain, wind but no apparent damage. I pray for those neighbors nearby.

Had some VERY heavy rain coming home from Grapevine an hour or so ago, but nothing else here in Roanoke.

Hope everyone is okay.

I was watching that twister that was skirting south of Cleburne. It was headed straight for my parents hunkered down in their house. Then it did the weirdest thing and took a left hook up toward Cleburne and kind of lost it's steam for a while. The pictures of it show a mile wide wedge tornado. I'm so glad it didn't hit my loved ones, but I am so sorry for the poor folks who lost their lives near Grandbury.

My dad lives just out of Cleburne and he lost his barn and a portion of his roof. Flooded his garage but he was in the basement we had installed a few years ago.

One of our newer members, "un0fficial," is a professional storm chaser, and he was out there in Millsap chasing that one last night.

Praise God your parents are OK, but it's just terrible that there are 6 dead and so many hurt.

I'm in Mineral Wells, we had some baseball size hail, may need a new roof but will wait until the people in the most need get their lives moving before I start bugging the insurance agent. Prayers for those hit by the storms.

A coworker just bought a new truck, literally was driving it home from the dealer when the storm hit, four miles on the odometer. Now it looks like someone dropped a bowling ball on his hood. I told him it would buff right out, he didn’t believe me.

un0fficial just told me that CNN and CBS just bought his video from last night. The CNN video is visible here: http://www.cnn.com/2013/05/16/us/texas- ... ?hpt=hp_t1.

Prayers for all of the members, their families and all others injured or killed by the storms. Very scary stuff for anyone in the path of those storms. NWS has said Granbury was as high as EF4 (166-200 mph).
