Man thwarts armed robbery by shooting suspect....

Post by JJVP »

....in buttocks
LANSING — A would-be armed robber got more than he bargained for when he tried to hold a man up on Tuesday, according to police.
Lesson learned - Don't bring a stun gun to a gun fight. :fire

Bad luck to bring a stun gun to a robbery that turns into a gunfight.

Why shoot someone in the butt? If you are going to go to the trouble to draw, maybe you should aim higher.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

Why? If they are in the process of committing an act that justifies deadly force, there is nothing in the law that says you can't shoot them in the back (or butt). It may be against the "old west" code but it isn't against the Texas penal code.

Aggressor sees gun and decides to turn and run as trigger is being pulled?

Aggressor turned at an angle presenting a lower cheek as a side target?

Up close scuffle that resulted in a funny shooting angle?

I like either of the first two possibilities. I'd go with either of those.
