I used to post on several LE forums and socialized with many cops. There are quite a few that don't carry off duty.

Correct sir. I didn't want to carry today but did in case something bad happened. Having worked 2 active shooters at schools I worry. All Chl holders should be able to carry here IMO. Maybe someday these politicians will fix that. They are reading off the long list of names..glad I have my phone :-)
I agree. I went to a graduation and it was held at a city building but since it was a school activity I could not carry.

Oh no. To them the badge endows supernatural powers upon the possessor. A badge holder can do no wrong with a gun. This is why you should obtain and carry your very own CHL gold shield. :biggrinjester:

Unfortunately I didn't have a CHL sash with me so there could have been a problem.

I know many that do not carry. When carrying off duty some departments do require one to take action as well if something goes down. Back in the day many required off duty carry, but not so much anymore. I used to teach officer survival and there are way to many stories of off duty officers either being accidentally shot by a responding LEO in a case of mistaken identity or killed by the crooks. I prefer to be a good witness unless absolutely necessary to step in.
