Wound to his foot makes me wonder if bad guy shot him or he shot his own foot.

The police sergeant said “If someone tried to rob you on your front porch … you could be justified in using force to protect yourself, including deadly force."

Especially if the guy is on top of you bashing in your head. Unless of course your assailant is a 17-year-old with skittles in his pocket.

Follow up story say the dead assailant had a firearm. No mention whether he caused the injury to the robbery victim.
