Me too. (Sarcasm on) If we would just legalize weed stuff like this wouldn't happen. This was all about weed, right? (Sarcasm off).

Shot placement is everything!
That is exactly what popped into my mind when I saw the BG's head drop to the hood of the car. Like flipping a light switch.

I agree they should legalize it. However this guy was packing heat and there is more to the story. Nobody just gets out and shoots a cop over a joint.

Good for the officers. One less scumbag wasting air. They look like they did everything correct and still ended up on the wrong end of a gun. The suspect bolted out of the car firing as he went. No way to really prepare well for that. The officer did a good job of staying in the fight and returning fire directly through the windshield, instead of trying to get out and shoot around it....nice work. :tiphat:

You can hear the cop say that the guy has had drug trafficking and alot of weapons charges. So I assume he was a felon that didn't want to go back to jail for the gun possession and possibly drug possession.

Here's a question that I would like to pose:

The BG seemed to be firing directly into the LEO's seated position in the driver's seat.

But then when you look at the still photos of the police car, taken after the incident, there are a number of holes in the
passenger side of the car, as well as 1 or more in the hood. ???

Although I re-wound this a few times, I still couldn't figure out how either the LEO's or the BG's rounds
found their way to the passenger side.

The round count, by the way, was 8 rounds fired by the BG, using his Smith and Wesson;
6 rounds from the LEO's service pistol (brand/caliber unknown).

Car 2 moved over to the left of car one. The BG fires about 3-4 shots at that car after he is shooting through the windsheild of Car 1 (directly at the officer) and then the officer in Car 1 hits him with a stopping shot

Also, it worthy to note, how the 1 head shot stopped the BG on impact.

He definitely hit the off switch this time. Interesting how immediate the guy shut down with that shot.

Central nervous system hits are usually a lights out scenario. If it creates enough shock directly to the brain or spinal cord to the brain then they will switch off. However, a head shot may not trigger their CNS to shutdown if they are not hit in a vital portion of the brain or the shock from the impact of the bullet isn't severe enough to trigger it. This is a good scenario where inertia and mass are your friend in delivering enough force to trigger a complete shutdown and immediate stop of the threat. That is why i will take a heavy bullet and lots of charge over a .22 - .380 with little to no mass and not much powder behind it any day.
