There is a particular brand of handgun where you must pull the trigger to take it down. YES, I KNOW and everyone knows that you should double check that the weapon is clear before you do this, but a lot of NDs seem to occur because of this "feature."The Count wrote:How sad. In my opinion, it is poor engineering because good engineering takes into account that people might make mistakes and forget to follow the instructions.
I think it would be far better to pop the barrel out of the slide and realize you had a round in the chamber than to realize you had a round in the chamber as your television explodes or worse as you pull the trigger to take down the slide.
I have no data to back it up, but I think a lot of law enforcement NDs that you read in the paper or on the internet about are probably due to this.
Yes, I know I will get hated on because of this and yes, I know that wasn't the gun in this case.
