There is a particular brand of handgun where you must pull the trigger to take it down. YES, I KNOW and everyone knows that you should double check that the weapon is clear before you do this, but a lot of NDs seem to occur because of this "feature."

In my opinion, it is poor engineering because good engineering takes into account that people might make mistakes and forget to follow the instructions.
I think it would be far better to pop the barrel out of the slide and realize you had a round in the chamber than to realize you had a round in the chamber as your television explodes or worse as you pull the trigger to take down the slide.

I have no data to back it up, but I think a lot of law enforcement NDs that you read in the paper or on the internet about are probably due to this.

Yes, I know I will get hated on because of this and yes, I know that wasn't the gun in this case.
