You wanting to buy cows?drjoker wrote:Cows literally graze across the street from that Cabela's. I know that they get stock in on certain days and times. Anybody know what is the best day and times to try? I'd hate to drive 2 hours only to find out they've got nothing!
I can see resenting being told that, but being in "the middle of freaking nowhere" is part of its charm, the reason you live there, I imagine. I can't wait to move to "the middle of freaking nowhere", although I guess I will actually be sort of on the edge.Crossfire wrote:I resent being told that I am in "the middle of freaking nowhere", since I can see the Ft Worth Cabela's from my house.
We are civilized too!

I have seen quite a few "spotted deer" taken by urban "hunters" around the Chiricahau and White mountains in AZ. Guarding your cows and making sure they had all been moved off of BLM and/or FS leased range before and during deer season is a big job.JALLEN wrote:I can see resenting being told that, but being in "the middle of freaking nowhere" is part of its charm, the reason you live there, I imagine. A good many cows are killed every year by city slickers thinking they have just killed the biggest deer they ever saw.
If you don't mind walmart, this link will search everywhere in the country for stock status.drjoker wrote:Is cabelas fw, allen, or academy's D, better 4 ammo fri a.m. at open? Need 22lr. Thanks.
I have seen walmart employees walk out with the entire stock of ammo. I asked and the guy said that he's selling it to the local gun show. Academy's doesn't allow their employees do this. You are only allowed to buy one tiny 40 ct box of 22lr ammo per day and it's usually gone in 30 min. Plus, they only randomly get ammo one day a week. So you have to stand in line at 8am every day to get one tiny 40 ct box of 22lr per week. I had to stand in line for a month to get enough ammo for the weekend shooting match at DPC. But at least this beats getting nothing at walmart or getting gouged for 5x the price at Cheaper than Dirt ("cheap"?, what a JOKE! I'm never buying from those jokers EVER again!!!)sugar land dave wrote:If you don't mind walmart, this link will search everywhere in the country for stock status.drjoker wrote:Is cabelas fw, allen, or academy's D, better 4 ammo fri a.m. at open? Yeah, cuz they're sick and tired of complaints from customers going there only to see an employee buy up the whole stock when their online system clearly says that they have it in stock!Dirthawking wrote:Walmart has also changed their system so that you can no longer look online to see who has what.
Not sure if intentional or accidental irony.drjoker wrote:I'm never buying from those jokers EVER again!!!)
