If its a hung jury isn't he free as the prosecution would have to recharge him?
Re: Zimmerman Jury Selected Opening Statements 6/24
If the jury agrees he is not guilty, I wonder if there will be riots and a Federal trial to make sure Obama gets what he wants.

Hung jury does seem like the most likely outcome.

You know I'm getting sick of this case. The media has convicted him, the public is starting to become indifferent, and It seems like every "update" on the case/trial goes something like this:
Today we have new developments in the George Zimmerman Murder Trial. As some of you may remember George Zimmerman, a white man, has delayed justice for more than a year since he murdered innocent little Treyvon Martin in cold blood on February 26, 2012. After calling 911 and saying "He's Black" George Zimmerman followed Treyvon some distance before executing him in cold blood so he could become a posterboy for the NRA. After realizing that the stand your ground and murder someone law might not apply to him Zimmerman proceeded to injure himself and tamper with evidence so that it would appear that a struggle happened between him and the innocent victim. A new minority rights group called "The Black Carcass" has scheduled riots in the event that Zimmerman is not found guilty, and additionally has scheduled riots for the possibility that he may be found guilty but not receive the death penalty. Please check back often for more updates on the trial of this racist baby killer.
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

Yep, that's why I just LOVE the mass media so much because they bring the "truth" to the people. /sarcG.A. Heath wrote:You know I'm getting sick of this case. Seriously, if I did see something worded exactly like that in a news report, it wouldn't surprise me one little bit.

It seems to me that the media and other organizations may have done a good job of shooting themselves in the foot this time. They may have significantly polluted the jury pool to the point they couldn't impanel a jury that would guarantee a conviction for Zimmerman. Only time will tell...K.Mooneyham wrote:Yep, that's why I just LOVE the mass media so much because they bring the "truth" to the people. /sarcG.A. Heath wrote:You know I'm getting sick of this case. How many minutes do you think that would take?Cedar Park Dad wrote:If its a hung jury isn't he free as the prosecution would have to recharge him?
I sincerely apologize to anybody I offended by suggesting the Second Amendment also applies to The People who don't work for the government.

A hung jury doesn't dismiss the charge so they wouldn't have to recharge him.gringo pistolero wrote:How many minutes do you think that would take?Cedar Park Dad wrote:If its a hung jury isn't he free as the prosecution would have to recharge him?

The prosecution went overboard with the charges. They might get a hung jury for manslaughter. I believe the jury will return "not guilty" for 2nd degree murder. I don't know if the jury will have the opportunity to find him guilty of a lesser charge. If so, that could work against Zimmerman. . . people like middle grounds and will likely view manslaughter as a nice compromise.
The evidence continuing to trickle out seems to reinforce the not-guilty crowd. Sadly, much of it won't be presented in the trial.
