My wife is in surgery right now....

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

My wife is in surgery right now....

Post by The Annoyed Man »

This is not an emergency. She's having a scheduled debridement of calcified tendonitis with a rotator cuff repair if necessary. I just left her a few minutes ago after they wheeled her off to the OR.

We're at the Baylor Surgery Center in Trophy Club.

BTW, it isn't posted. Just the ubiquitous gunbusters signs.

I have been there. They will treat you both well. Prayers for her quick recovery.

And, if you are there long enough for lunch - you won't believe this - they have a GREAT café on the second floor! Not your typical hospital food. I think I had trout almondine there, or something similar.

Prayers for a good surgery and fast recovery. And I agree with Crossfire, great food at all of the Baylor Hospitals. The Heart Hospital cafeteria has one of the best bacon cheeseburgers I have ever eaten!

Yeah, I know the irony. Maybe they are just trying keep their clientèle coming back.

I just came down from having breakfast in the cafetaria. Not bad at all.

My best wishes for you and your wife Mr. TAM. I hope all goes well. My mother is having abdominal surgery as I type away. I'm not a man of faith, but any prayers or kind words are welcome.

Thanks everybody. She sailed through the surgery just fine with no complications. She was just taken to recovery. Surgery was an hour and a half. They did the debridement and got all the calcium out. Not necessary to do a rotator cuff repair. I'm just waiting for them to call me up to the recovery room to sit with her. Recuperation will be on the order of 6-8 weeks.

Her surgeon showed me the pictures he took during the surgery. Pretty interesting stuff.
