My wife is in surgery right now....

Whether the need is great or small, there is power in prayer, especially when God's people raise their voices together.

The Annoyed Man wrote:Thanks everybody. She sailed through the surgery just fine with no complications. She was just taken to recovery. Surgery was an hour and a half. They did the debridement and got all the calcium out. Not necessary to do a rotator cuff repair. I'm just waiting for them to call me up to the recovery room to sit with her. Recuperation will be on the order of 6-8 weeks.

Her surgeon showed me the pictures he took during the surgery. Pretty interesting stuff.

Prayers sent for a speedy and full recovery for your wife TAM from the Mobley's.

Just saw this from yesterday. Glad your wife's surgery went well, TAM. Hope any required rehab goes smoothly and that she's back to full health soon! Keep us posted.

LOLZ. I told her that, and she said, "no problem......tell him I'm giving up karate too."

She had a much better day today. Yesterday was pretty rough. She was really groggy from the anesthesia pretty much all day and had some lingering nausea. But she's quite a bit perkier today. They did a nerve block as part of the anesthesia during the procedure, and it is taking a little longer than normal for the numbness to wear off. The numbness went up her neck into her ear region as well as down the affected arm a ways. As it fades, she has some tingling and itchiness and she's trying to resist scratching.

She's staying on top of her pain meds as the block wears off, and as long as she doesn't move too abruptly, she's pretty comfortable. Can't remember the last time I helped my wife put her clothes on.
