Which of you....

Post by JALLEN »

wanted to meet near the Alamo for a beer, or an iced tea, when I got to Texas? I've searched the Forum and cannot find, and do not remember, who it was, but I'm ready to plot and scheme something.

I'm in the same boat with the most generous offer to provide me a 30 round AR type magazine to celebrate the move. I'd love to have it, and am taking the"bullet button" out of my M4gery right away!

Let me hear from you fine folk, whoever you are!
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

It wasn't me, but I'm about a half hour west from there. With some notice, I could have my arm twisted enough to come out for a beer.

We may have to set up some kind of rendezvous.

I'm in DFW but if you're ever in the area, you're more than welcome to drop by for a brew. I don't have any "mass brews" though, you'll have to drink something that tastes... well, like beer

Ditto. Though, I can't drink beer any more. :cryin But a margarita would go down a treat.

I'm very sorry to hear that. I think if I couldn't have whiskey or beer I'd probably give up drinking all-together. Barley or bust!!!

Whiskey I can do. Matter of fact, I'm something of a connoisseur of single malt Scotch. But with beer, the issue is the carbonation. I had a gastric sleeve about a year and a half ago and can't handle carbonated beverages. A stomach the size of a hard boiled egg will do that to you.

On the plus side, I went from 350 to my current ~200 in that same year and a half.

Crazy! My mom was just released from her gastric sleeve op this afternoon. She's still hurting but looks like a good recovery. It's nice to see she's not the only one.

I'm not anywhere near the Alamo, but if you make it to East Texas around the Tyler area I would be more than glad to meet up and partake in a beer or two and I would more than willingly relinquish one of my 30 round AR mags as a welcoming gift to you. I have more than I will ever use. :cheers2: :thumbs2:

The Alamo. I know of this place. Oak Bar, Menger Hotel. We can toast Teddy Roosevelt. Do you validate parking?

That is a heck of a good idea. I will toast Col. Roosevelt, and strike a blow for liberty, any day and twice on Saturdays.

Now we need to figure out is which Saturday.

Does Menger offer edible food service?

You would be literately STEPS away from the Riverwalk that has more places to eat/drink than you can imagine.
