Police said a 32-year-old man meet two other men in the parking lot to make a deal for used auto parts. When the man got out of his vehicle, the suspects walked over to him and demanded his money and other items at gunpoint.
Looks like the good guy won to me.

Looks like the only rule the guy failed to follow was 'don't deal with criminals'. Oh yeah, you don't know who the bad guy is until it's too late. Hope his legal issues get resolved quickly & without too much hassle (assuming the facts are accurate as reputed).

I hate the Chronicle...

"A Harris County grand jury is expected to determine what, if any, charges will be filed after a man opened fire on two robbery suspects, killing one and wounding the other in a grocery store parking lot in northeast Houston Thursday morning."

Looks like a good shoot.

The chronicle can't help themselves. They've been committed to guilty until proven innocent where self defense is concerned for too long to turn back now. Doing different would conflict with their narrative on how the vunnables are being victimized by us overzealous redneck gun nuts.

Most newspapers aren't in the business of reporting the news anymore.

This sounds pretty clear cut to me as far as self defense. What kind of legal fees will something like this incur on the defendant?
