What I want to know is how this would affect PRISM.

I'm sure the Government spared no (taxpayer) expense in hardening the facility against EMP. We could all be reduced to something resembling a corn-flake, and the data would live on forever.

Hopefully, it will fry it.....but it probably wouldn't because it's mostly likely hardened.tacticool wrote:What I want to know is how this would affect PRISM.
However......all the devices that PRISM scans—our cellphones, home phones, radios, internet sites, computers, etc., etc., etc.—would be fried and un-scannable......so it would be moot. PRISM would still be useless.

I would be very surprised if it's hardened. Have you every seen... really SEEN an EMP hardened facility? It is much, much more involved than most people think. The Annoyed Man wrote:Hopefully, it will fry it.....but it probably wouldn't because it's mostly likely hardened.tacticool wrote:What I want to know is how this would affect PRISM.

Back in the early 90's, I led the team that installed all the comms for the Early Missle Warning Computer System when SAC decided they needed to move in into a HEMP shield. I was all over that facility, including on top of it.

Well, in that case it would be fried, but that still doesn't change the fact that anything it could scan would be fried too......and we'd still be rid of it.Pawpaw wrote:I would be very surprised if it's hardened.
