Concealled carry positition

Post by tim2599 »

Whats better? 1-2 O'clock carry(under the belly carry) or 3-4 O'clock carry.

I know its a matter of personal preference but I want people's insight, experience and suggestions.
So please let me know your opinions!

I have found 3-4 to be more comfortable. Just walking around will normally be at about 3:30-4 and then when I get in the truck will slide it forward to 2:30-3 to be just in front of the seat belt. I use paddle holsters.

It's a little like asking "what flavor ice cream is best?"...

I carry about 3:30 IWB.

I don't like "under the belly" (1 or 2 oclock positions). It puts the weapon pointing at my family jewels when sitting down.

Welcome to the forum.

My two cents.

I used to carry about 3:30, now I find with a full size gun, and IWB, about 4:30 is more comfortable.

My position? I'm in favor of it.

Depends on the situation. I can't carry at work, so when I leave for work I stick my CM9 in a clipless Remora holster and tuck it IWB at 12:00. That way it's easy to remove in lock up when I get to work. When I get off work and I'm going straight home, I retrieve the holstered CM9 from the lock box and tuck it back at 12:00. If I'm going to run errands after work I go ahead and tuck it IWB at 8:30. When I'm off work and leaving the house I will carry the CM9 or M&P 9c in a Garret Silent Thunder or CBST IWB respectively, both at 8:30. I'm speaking in summertime terms here. I'm inclined to carry AIWB more in the winter with an extra layer of clothing. For me AIWB does conceal as well in just a t-shirt.

Neither. I carry all day, not just at noon or 3:30. :biggrinjester:

Nah, I'm a leftie, so it's around 8:30 to 9 o'clock on my waist.

Behind my right hip iwb, adjusted forward or backward depending on where the clips land in relation to my belt loops on my pants.
