The above link is a rather eye-opening article about the problems related to BG's (bad guys) who are wearing
ankle monitors. I had the opinion, until reading this piece, that ankle monitors were working. WRONG.

There are so many ankle monitors out there, so many false alarms (like dead batteries), and there are not
enough LEO types to monitor them.

BG's are able to roam around freely once they find out that Big Brother isn't watching. They have committed
robberies and killed the witnesses against them in future court proceedings.

You'll be shocked at the state of affairs regarding ankle monitors on dangerous predators.

The man who killed the Colorado prison official at his home and a pizza driver, then almost killed a Montague
(say Monn-tag) County, Texas deputy had removed his ankle bracelet before embarking on his crime spree.

They are handled by Probation Officers, not regular LEO's. It is up to them to followup on any alarms, and they do not have the time to do it (effectively) with their case loads.
