I wonder of Obummer will claim this guy as his son? The AP news blurb of course doesn't mention the race of the perp, this is not politically correct any longer . When I saw the name of the perp, that was a clue the kid was black:
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) — Police have arrested a man they say killed a 99-year-old woman inside her upstate New York home.
Poughkeepsie (poh-KIHP'-see) City Police say 20-year-old Javon Tyrek Rogers was arraigned Saturday, charged with burglary and first-degree murder in the death of Fannie Gumbinger. They say he was arrested at 11 p.m. Friday night.
Gumbinger's body was found Wednesday morning after a caretaker suspected something was wrong inside the woman's house and called police. An autopsy Thursday determined that Gumbinger died from multiple injuries inside the home she'd lived alone in since her husband's death in 2007.
A college of mine who was originally from Japan considered this lady his American Mom. She raised him and looked after him while he was in this country. I never met her but apparently she was an amazing woman, besides living to 99...

I'd bet you that this MAN (not "kid") had a long felony rap sheet before killing this woman. I'll also bet you that most of the children that he fathers will also be upstanding citizens such as their father. All of these kids and their kids would all demand over $300k EACH in welfare over their lifetime at best and over $2 million EACH if imprisoned for life. What if we were to give at risk "kids" with felony rap sheets $20,000 cash or $40,000 in scholarship money for trade school training (for the smarter ones) to get sterilized? This would be a bargain for the taxpayer because we don't have to pay for millions in welfare payments and life imprisonment terms. We could even hide this from the general public with a non-disclosure agreement in the contract. It wouldn't even have to be a government project, the cost is so low, a Bill Gates or Warren Buffet could do it with the money in their will as part of a foundation much like the Howard Hughes foundation (HHMI). Someone who is not as wealthy could do it for just a city by using a NGO type of organization so as to hide the name of the wealthy individual doing it.
It is race neutral and totally voluntary (with a cash incentive). I think most people, given the choice, would go for it.
This would fix crime, the federal deficit, teen pregnancy, illiteracy, drug abuse etc. Basically, all of our problems would be fixed with just a small payment. This would change the entire country in just one generation and it could be done quietly without any publicity at all.
P.S. The way we are currently doing things is expensive and inefficient. We are waiting until they move up the revolving door system until they commit a death penalty or life imprisonment crime. This is what's taking them out of the gene pool currently. However, this is inhumane and more expensive. Life imprisonment is a lifetime of torture and whatever happened to "thou shall not kill?" Voluntary sterilization is the best, most efficient, and humane way of dealing with the problem.
(sigh) I've pretty much given up on most of the generation age 25 and below (note I said MOST)....they haven't learned the value of human life, respect of elders, consequences of doing something wrong (parents are afraid to dish out discipline anymore). This is what we have now....we shouldn't be surprised

Drjoker you are on the right path. I have stated the exact same thing as you, but instead of sterilization, I was condoning birth control. There was another discussion on another forum, and my point was that any household receiving any form of governmental support it should be mandatory that all parties living in that household should be on birth control. Should any resident of a household that receives any form of governmental benefit, or entitlement, become pregnant, or one of the residents impregnates anyone else, then ALL benefits stop for a period of not less than 5 years for every man/woman/child who was a resident of the household at that time. Granted it won't stop the irresponsible from continuing to reproduce, but I think it would be an easier "sell" than sterilization.
If you want to know the real reason a plan of this nature will never, ever, under any circumstance, come to pass is because most of those births you would be preventing would be Democrats, and they are counting on those votes to hold all of us hostage.

I think he was pointing out the hypocrisy of bringing race into the Zimmerman shooting and trial, combined with Obama getting involved in one case, but not the other. If race is a factor in any shooting, it's a factor in all. The media can't have it both ways.
Colin Powell said the Trayvon Martin shooting would not be historically significant. To me he was wrong. It did change things.
A thug want to be, beat up a man, who defended him self and the thug died. Because of race, the thug was exaulted to the point that the President of the United States said he could have been his son.
The innocent victim who was also a minority, was drug through hell and back for what he rightfully did. The newsmedia lied and distorted the facts to create a false impression that the majority in this country are evil and should be ashamed.
Since then in case after case after case, we are not evil, we are innocent victims. The truth is coming out that profiling young minority thugs is the correct smart thing to do.
The innocence of the 60's is now gone. Replaced by the hard reality that the real evil is not us, but the young thug under that hoodie.
That is why the Trayvon Martin shooting is historically significant, and why from now on the majority will want to know the race of the killer.
