New Audit

Post by Seabear »

I just got a call from the same guy that came to my house for the Instructor Audit last year. Apparently they are no longer allowed to do an audit in a Private Home, so I have to pack all my stuff up and take it down to the DPS office.

Has anybody else heard this?

I'm gonna have a truck full of stuff to take him all he asked for.

Oh well,
Carry safe and carry when and where you can. I'm just sayin'.

Yup, I was surprised when I saw they did yours. When mine was done last spring I was told they could not come to private residences for safety reasons.

OK cool. I just thought it was weird since my last one was here at the house.

Sounds like he wasn't aware last time and got corrected.

OK, this just adds to my theory that someone is trying to make it difficult to become, and then to remain an instructor. Just one more hoop to jump through.

I don't think this is the case here. I don't think this law has changed as I was told last year they don't come to private residences for safety reasons. I can see that and would agree unless they had a business/shop to come to.

I don't know. I haven't heard of a single bad incident happening when an auditor went to an individual's house. And I think that's the kind of thing we would have heard of.

But that doesn't mean it is a good practice. As a minister, I NEVER go into a ladies house alone. Here you would have auditors going into homes of opposite sex (possible claims of flirting, rape. Possible romance begin. Or the sheer looks of impropriety); Have a nut possibly harm you, etc. But as I said, I don't know that the practice changed, or he just got corrected.

If your classroom is at a gun shop or range, I think they'll do the audit there if you don't want to go to their office.
I sincerely apologize to anybody I offended by suggesting the Second Amendment also applies to The People who don't work for the government.

What if your classroom is in your home?

Or if you rent a classroom to teach in? Seems like all of the audits were working just fine, then all of a sudden another change just to keep us off balance. All of these changes in just one year look kind of fishy to me.

I'm not surprised when a new process has some teething pains.
