National Night Out Tuesday October 1, 2013

National Night Out is scheduled for Tuesday October 1, 2013. This is an effort to have decent people walk the streets of their own neighborhoods. In my experience, it has been mostly block parties or yard parties put on by neighborhood associations.

We—and I do mean myself—don't have a lot of contact with our neighbors. This is a good opportunity to meet some of them.

Annual event started in 1984. The rest of the country and Canada does it in August. The organizers agreed that Aug was too hot in Texas so we do it in Oct.
