8 Lbs of CFE-223 Today!

Post by ddstuder »

I ordered 8 Lbs of CFE-223 from Powder Valley on Monday, and it is on the truck for delivery as we speak! :woohoo

I have heard a lot of good things about this powder, but have not been able to purchase any until now.

Reading the loading manuals that I have, it seems to out perform most of the usual 223 powders, and is supposed to remove copper fouling from the barrel. (hence the CFE, Copper Fouling Eraser)

Does anyone have any experience with this powder?

With the rain coming in, I expect to get a couple hundred of these loaded up this weekend for use in my Remington 700. I have some brass that has been fire formed for this rifle, and I am stuffing some 69g Sierra projectiles in them!

Yeah I really like my Rem 700. It weighs a ton for such a little bullet! :smilelol5:

I always laugh at when i go to the river. There are always tools there firing their AR's as fast as they can at a target less than 20 yards away, laughing it up!

Then I set up on the bench and take one shot at 400 yds, and you can hear the "bell" ring! They always come over and ask about the rifle! :smilelol5:

I hear you on the "LFE", that would be nice!

I plan on loading up a few with this CFE this weekend, but I will not be able to test them out until next weekend.

I will let y'all know

Heck, my Win-70 223 is so accurate, I think I could shoot it blindfolded and hit the target..!!
I even have a cheep scope on it now and still can do a pretty good job.
Don't get me wrong, I like fast shooting guns to play with, but most of that is just showing off and wasting ammo, it may be different when you load your own ammo. I hate to just blast it everywhere and waste all that work that went into making them accurate.

That's what 22's are for ;-) ........ My Ruger 10/22 with Ruger 25 round mags do the trick for me.
Or my Marlin mod-60 with 18 +1 rounds in the tube.
And a LOT cheaper that 223's/556...................

I would normally agree with you, but I have more 223 reloads than I do 22LR! :banghead:

I am not opposed to blasting either, but there is no substitute for accuracy! :fire
