Good job in a tense situation! Graphic video from a body camera warn by a leo who went to the threat. I am sure some will whine about the number of shots fired, but they got the job done. What is with these NFL athletes anyhow?

At the end of the day, they shot him. They didn't kill him. He gets to live to play the fool again. She has a relatively minor gunshot wound (in the arm), and the LEOs all went home to their families.texanjoker wrote:Good job in a tense situation! I'm surprised it was only one charge of aggravated battery. He actually tried to stab her, which is why they shot him. He was close enough to get it done too, if the cops had not shot him, stopping his attack. How is that not attempted murder?Green was charged with one felony count of aggravated battery, according to the police report.
Lesson here too for the rest of us: Green was shot "several times," presumably with a .40 Cal or 9mm, presumably with hollowpoints. . . .and he survived it.

The NFL has plenty of knuckleheads, but it's a bit of a stretch with this guy. He went to a pre-season camp with the Giants for a couple months and got cut before the season started. Never played a game.texanjoker wrote:... What is with these NFL athletes anyhow?
I suspect that was the first, easiest thing to charge and hold him with. His lawyer is probably standing by for further developments...The Annoyed Man wrote:...I'm surprised it was only one charge of aggravated battery. ...
ETA: I didn't realize how long ago this happened. Further reading reveals: "Kidnapping and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon with intent to do bodily harm, with a possible maximum sentence, if convicted, of 30 years." Given he didn't actually jam the knife in her chest, more like pushing it to her chest, proving attempted murder might be uphill to prove beyond a reasonable doubt.
Apparently they did stop him, however. Having lots of bodymass to soak up bullets may help with survival. We'll see how well he survived. Gut shots can be very nasty, and I'll bet he will have a bit of a limp for awhile. The Annoyed Man wrote: ...

Oh, here we go:
As a juvenile he got arrested with some other kids in a stolen car, and then kicked out the rear window of a patrol car. As an adult he had 20 arrests, convicted of two felonies.
I can sympathize with the mother of a criminal who gets in trouble or comes to a bad end; despite everything he is still her child, it has to be painful for her. But I cannot abide someone who abuses her status as grieving mother to blame everyone else for her little dirtbag's poor choices, especially when little dirtbag is endangering others.
If I were feeling particularly unkind, I might ask her who had more influence on the way he turned out, someone who has had a special, unique influence over him his whole life, or a couple cops or a citizen whose entire relationship with him covers at most a couple minutes of threats and violence?

“Nobody deserves to be treated like that. It wasn’t justice to do him like that.”

“When he wasn’t at work, he’d be home, playing cards or something,” she said. “He might know a lot of people, but he didn’t hang around. His place was at home. He’s a sweetheart.”
What about the Jermaine Green who showed up in police reports, the Jermaine Green who had to be subdued in such dramatic, violent fashion?
“He’s not that type of person. I seen him drinking before and never saw him act like that,” Donna Green said.

Yes. Not enough rounds fired to finish the job. It's a shame LEO's have to enter peoples houses at all. The natural selection process has been destroyed by handouts to an "uncivilized segment of society" that deserves nothing.

I am your guy, "the troll", but that sounded a lot more like aimed shots than a mag dump, compared to the old coot with the BB gun that got unloaded on.I am sure some will whine about the number of shots fired
