I have never participated in a Black Friday event and decided to get up early and go to Cabela's this morning. I was totally unprepared for what I was about to witness. There were so many people, and the line so long, I never saw the end of it. If I were guessing I suspect there were well over 500 people camped out to get in at 5am.

I short order I decided I'd be better off in bed and turned around and went back home. Lesson learned... :banghead:

I went to the Drudge Report and did a quick screen grab. Yes, Madness is a good word for it. I also like their "Whack Friday" headline.

We went out Thursday night to try and score a deal (family was gone, dinner was over -- otherwise we would have never gone). Went into best buy and every department had lines with at least an hour wait. No way we were spending thanksgiving night waiting in line for some silly deal. The most ridiculous part was you had to wait in line and ask for the deal at the counter. If they were sold out, you were out of luck.

I prefer Cyber Monday myself but I don't do it at work.

5% of employers have fired somebody for holiday shopping at work.

Saginaw Wal-Mart Pile Up. People are crazy...

Video of the Thanksgiving night pile-up inside the Sagniaw Wal-Mart is going viral. And the man seen being helped out says what happened never should have happened.

I avoid crowds whenever possible. I've seen too many crowds become mobs.

I went to the UH-SMU game and on Saturday I went skeet shooting at American Shooting Center. I stayed far away from any shopping centers. I'm starting to hate shopping at all this time of year. To wit, I love Amazon even more this time of year.
