Just found this thread, and was going to post the same thing. I have the IWB versions that I purchased just to see if I can tolerate that method of carry. They work surprisingly well, and the level of retention can be somewhat adjusted by belt tension. The side of the holster that is against the wearer's body is slightly higher, so that the pistol does not rub against you or your clothes. They are very comfortable to wear.

I doubt that these holsters will last a long time, but I can always order a much nicer holster once I make sure of which carry method I end up preferring. Better to make a $13 mistake than a $50-$100 one.....

I have a Milt Sparks VMII for my Sig229, it is great....AND

If I'm wearing something that is too light to conceal the 229, or if I feel like traveling light.....

I drop my PT111 in the VMII and keep on going. It fits like it was boned for the 111! It is nice because it is the same carry platform, and everything is "right where it is supposed to be" everytime, no matter what I'm carring.

Propellerhead--
Thanks for the advice about the inexpensive Uncle Mike's. I had actually tried one when I first got the gun but it seemed a bit bulky and didn't quite fit the gun right, so I took it back. I did take the principle behind your advice, though, and picked up a IWB from Texas Gunleather here in FW for $8. It's very thin leather so it conceals well; the only downside is it's not stiff enough to reholster well. However, wearing it around the house has convinced me that I will definitely want to carry IWB some of the time, esp. when I'm bummed out in loose shorts and tee shirts. I'll probably start saving for a nicer holster down the road.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
