Ft. Worth Gun Show
I'm planning on heading up to Ft. Worth on Sunday for the gun show. Does anybody know if they are posted? I drive a soft top Jeep so if they are I'd have to leave my daily carry at home
Cant lock it up secure enough in the Jeep

Re: Ft. Worth Gun Show
Just asking, have you ever been to a gun show in DFW? I haven't been to a single one that isn't 30.06 with officers zip-tying all firearms upon entry. There's no metal detector so really, it's an honor based system. To answer your question, yeah they're posted. You can take yours inside but you'll have to zip tie it and it may not fit into your holster.
Re: Ft. Worth Gun Show
It's a 30.06 posted city owned building, so interpret that how you want.
You could just have the cops at the entrance zip tie it when you enter. That way you can at least carry it. I'd unload it in the car before entering if that's the route you choose tho.

I actually haven't been to a gun show in almost 10 years. I hate crowds, tight isles, junk renamed as "memorabilia", "vintage", or "historical", Tacticool morons who think they know more and have more training than anybody else, and old guys who forgot to shower for the last week....gun shows always seem to congregate all of these things.TheCytochromeC wrote:Just asking, have you ever been to a gun show in DFW? But my girlfriend and her Dad invited me and I'm still trying to get her pops warmed up to me. Thanks for the help

Warning..... not only is it posted, they also confiscate any ammo.
Some people simply need a high five, to the face, with a chair!

Wichita Falls, Jan 25-26 2014. $5 entrance fee. No 30.06.
Re: Ft. Worth Gun Show
Anyone thinking of going, it really wasn't that bad today. Plenty of room to browse around. Decent deals, a buddy picked up an xds 9 for $470 with a free basic holster and a free chl class. That seems to be the gimmick these days, but one I happen to like since I've been bugging him to take the class anyways. I grabbed a few odds and ends I was looking for, the main thing being an ar10 or 10/22 but didn't find either worth buying.

I didn't mean to seem rude or anything, simply asking out of curiosity. Just for the record, it's still just as you described13MWZ wrote:I actually haven't been to a gun show in almost 10 years. Do you remember the name of the vender your buddy bought the XDs 9 from? Looking to pick one of these up soon.Wes wrote:Anyone thinking of going, it really wasn't that bad today. Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid.

They did a price match on it at the show to another vendor and still gave the free class plus the holster which was a spin to win deal. Great guys to work with, were all very helpful. They always wear bright orange and have bright orange table clothes at the shows so hard to miss. I'd do business with them again.

Not trying to offend anyone, just relating my experience...
Those are the guys that 2 weeks after Sandy Hook were asking $2500 for AR's. I have never done business with them but I put them in the same category as Cheaper Than Dirt and will never deal with them. I would rather give my money to someone I feel is not an opportunist and I know many here feel the same way. YMMV and it appears that Wes was completely happy with his purchase.

My guns won't be illegal, they'll be undocumented.

Re: Ft. Worth Gun Show
I think of the jacked up evil black rifle prices as a stupid tax. It is for every joe blow who just reacts to the news events and does not really plan. It is always offset by the resulting sales 6 to 8 months later when surplus inventory gets produced and sits on the shelves. That is where we are now. Buy cheap and stack it deep is the rule and if you don't then you pay a price. It is going to take awhile for ammo to get there but it will as well. Commodity prices are what will limit ammo price reductions. So I do not resent the AR guys jacking up prices, since I know they will be selling them cheap latter on. Got to make a living, otherwise you are buying into the socialist bull of the administration.

Same here! I grabbed their holiday special blemished combo for only $349! Was really quite impressed. I looked for some parts at the show but all were higher than online. You could get a carbon at for $599 tho which ain't bad.
