I do not believe that is accurate. As I recall, I think it was gigag04 that posted about LEOSA carry in Hawaii. They place some roadblocks, sure, but it is legal.
Your right. LEOSA which was signed by George Bush requires all 50 states to allow LEO's the right to carry.

Here is Hawaii's official website for LEO's who want to bring a weapon to Hawaii.

Hawaii is also a "may issue" concealed carry state. However they have not granted a permit to conceal carry in 19 years.

As a tourist or permanent resident you have 36 hours to get to the chief of police, if you have a gun, before you have broken the law.

Reform is not going to happen because the liberals use welfare money to buy votes. The conservative republicans that try to do something, get accused of being heartless thugs who don't care about "poor people", so they back off for fear of losing votes.

I am convinced we are trapped in this vicious cycle of more people becoming more and more reliant on government so they cast their vote for politicians that promise them the most freebies. It will grow like this and likely is going to end with a situation like they have in Greece, but twice as violent because of the huge numbers of people we have reliant on government freebies. They are not going to like it when the credit card reaches the limit and the freebies stop coming.
This is about as succinct a description of the problem as I have seen, or could imagine myself. I have always said liberals think with their hearts insted of their heads, but Politicians? Liberal Politicians? To have gotten elected they can't be completely stupid, can't think JUST with their hearts-and-not-heads, so the answer must lie in "buying votes" as LR sez.

Power corrupts. I suspect it is also as addictive as heroin or nicotine...

But there is no methadone or Nicorette for power.

Not even close. Anybody can easily look up the numbers to see what percentage of the budget is tied up in entitlements. I'm in favor of getting rid of corporate subsidies and bailouts too but let's not lose sight of the iceberg.

Yeah, like giving money to GM so the unions could continue to prosper. You folks do realize that bailing out businesses is done to protect jobs? Usually union jobs. :tiphat: At least when the money is being given in this manner, folks are working for it. The welfare being discussed above is given so people can sit on their rear ends and do nothing while they collect a check. One day I would like to figure out when there was ever a time that welfare was suppose to be enough money to have a good standard of living. That was never the original intention of welfare. Somehow it has morphed into this.
