A Movie for Hams

Post by WildBill »

Recently there have been a couple of threads about hams. One of my favorite movies is called "Frequency" [2000].
It is a police/murder/drama/fantasy set in New York. During a unusual aurora borealis activity a [deceased] NY firefighter contacts his NY detective son via an old ham radio.
I have watched it numerous times. Great acting by Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel.

BTW - the old ham rig is the same one that I owned.

I haven't been to a theater in years, decades actually, but radio has been involved in a number of films.

One I remember had a CW sequence. The code spelled "I bet you hams can't copy this"

Now with no code licensing, he will eventually be right!
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

Loved that movie.

That was a good movie. It's one of the decreasing number that don't follow a typical Hollywood formula for the chosen genre. It was on cable several months ago.
