I joined this site just a few months after Charles started it. In fact I was member # 144. Back then I remember Charles making the statement that he would be surprised if he got 500 members. Well, here we are with a membership over 14,000 and still going strong. This is a true testament to the (1) owner of the board and the rules he set in place, (2) the moderators for watching over us and enforcing the rules and (3) the members here for their knowledge, willingness to share that knowledge, and for adhering to the rules.
So thank you all for making this a successful site that we all call home.
This is the only forum about really anything where I consistently return & interact.
And the mods are outstanding. Even the few times they've had to tap-rack-bang my brain back into battery when I ND'd something stupid into a post, they've done so professionally and civilly.
Though I don't post as much as some, this is my "go too" forum and to be honest I've learned to take it for granted. It's G rating and no tolerance for personal attacks (not that someone can disagree) makes it a safe haven for those with an opinion that likely would simply not have been posted. For what it's worth, we mention this forum in all of our CHL classes and have for several years.
Thanks to all who participate, especially the mods.

Many folks I know will not get on internet forums because of the typical mean and or hateful behavior from other forum members, flame wars, trolls etc. I recommend this forum to friends, family and even co-workers as a safe zone of good information. It is nice not having to worry about being proven wrong. I would even feel safe about my mother or daughter reading this forum.
I don't know what inspired you to start this thread RPBrown but I will give it an and even a to Charles and the mods.

I joined less than 48 hours after Charles opened it. I honestly just stumbled across it.
I have enjoyed the fellowship, wisdom, and education available on this site. But I most appreciate the integrity of the site and the 6-year-old friendly format. While I have only met a couple of members face-to-face there are many of you that I consider to be mentors and friends.
I highly recommend this site to all my students.
Thank you Charles and Mods for making, and maintaining, such a valuable resource.
After reading RPBRowns post I looked at the members list. I found it interesting that the vast majority of members make ten or less posts. There are thounds with zero posts. That makes me wonder how many are lurking and how many sign up, look around and never come back. I was also amazed at the post count for TAM. Holy Cow!!! He is the champ! I don't think anyone will ever catch him. he has over 15,700 posts! There should be a forum named after him or something.

While I rarely contribute, this is the only forum I regularly read. When I'm unable frequent the site, you can better believe I'm getting slammed at the office and working around the clock!
Many thanks to Charles, the moderators, and members like RPBrown for making this such a great community and an incredible resource.
