Leather Treatment

This is not about holsters or gun belts. I have a black leather jacket that I have owned for about 15 years.
Now that it has been cold for the last month or so I can wear it. I haven't had it cleaned and wondered
if any of the members has a favorite product for treating/conditioning the leather. The jacket is in great
shape, but I would to get back some of the color and shine.

Ok, I don't know if this stuff will make your jacket come back to life, but for my saddleback leather stuff I swear by it.

Does it have any problems (drying, cracking, molding, serious stains), or are you looking for just a cleaner/conditioner?

Lots of good choices for both at your local farm supply or tack store.

For standard cleaning/conditioning....

I've got some stuff from the Harley shop that I've had for a few years, and I really like it. It's called Leather Dressing, and comes in a round 6 0z. container. It looks sort of like thick vaseline, and I've used it on jackets,belts, saddlebags, bike seats, etc. I've had good results with it, but everyone has their own things they prefer. Hope you find something that suits you.

I will use saddle soap to clean and soften and then put some mink oil on all of my riding gear. Then again, I am old school and been using the same stuff for 45+ years.
Have a motorcycle jacket that is 30 years ago and it still looks good. Of course my grand daughter has it now.
