Age is no excuse for this or other beastly acts. The Good Book tells us the "age of accountability is 12"...and I'm okay with that. Hang these murdering scumbags - publicly.

The teen had also been sexually assaulted and cult-like objects were found around the apartment and on her body, police said.
I have no clue what is a "cult-like" object could be. Probably not a forum-suitable discussion.
Clear Creek ISD confirmed Cervantes was a sophomore at Clear Path Alternative. She started classes there in January, after transferring from Clear Lake High School.

“Clear Path is a place where students come to get back on track and our ultimate goal is to provide them the level of support they need,” said Elaina Polsen, with Clear Creek ISD.
I guess they didn't "get back on track".

It is for those two.

I heard on the radio that the girl was beaten to death and had a cross carved on her stomach. The teen claimed that had to kill the girl to make a pact with the devil.
Police told KTRK that Reyes and his friend allegedly murdered the girl so that Reyes' friend could "sell his soul to the devil."

I guess they didn't "get back on track".
Why can't they just say it is a place to house and attempt discipline for kids that have shown they are incapable of civil behavior in normal classroom? PC run amuck.

Agreed. I heard about it this morning on the Matt Patrick show. It makes me want to vomit.
