That is a warning I never thought I would see for our area. This winter has been very unusual. We normally get a day or so of ice and it is over. Maybe the whole global warming thing has something to do with it.
They haven't been there long enough for me to know what's normal for their winters, just that it's far enough north of Austin that they've gotten more wintry weather than we have this year (we live near but thankfully outside of Austin). Theirs has had more travel impact than ours has, that sort of thing. Just one of the things I've noticed has been different for them since their move.

Oh, absolutely. Plano,Allen,Frisco are all "kissing cousins" on a map. We get the same weather. There is no doubt the weather in your area is warmer than ours. It is as if there is a line just South of Dallas blocking cold from Austin. My son is in Houston and he always has warmer weather than us. 10-20 degrees cooler can be a huge change. The only reason I said anything about your post was to give you some hope to pass on to your friends. It isn't always this cool here. I wish it were, it has been a boom for my business.
Consider also, Allen, Fairview, Parker or Lucas. All are excellent. Lucas is big lots, large house, no dense divisions.Fairview has mansions in a wood.

Thanks again everyone. Unfortunately as the days pass, the likelihood of us relocating is less and less. It seems that the hiring manager wrote a check that the recruiters for the company are unwilling to cash. On January 1, they stripped the hiring managers from having input into the compensation packages and HR uses a static formula that now results in non-negotiable offers that very often don't meet market value for the position. They have also eliminated their bonus program so it looks like I'm going to have to pass on this one. Better to be in a job where you are undervalued than to have to uproot and go to another job where you are still undervalued. The search goes on...
Came to terms with the employer! We are targeting early May to be ready to move into a new home somewhere in the area, as relo expenses are included. See you all at the FGC!

Traffic in Frisco is awful. I live in Coppell but go to Carrollton regularly for my son's school and our church. It really is an easy drive. You should looki into Coppell.

Get it in writing and good luck!
Thanks and not to worry. This is an enormous company with a very good reputation for doing what's in everyone's best interest (AND putting it in writing).
Signed a contract Friday on new construction in Little Elm. It's a Gehan home on a block surrounded by Landon homes, and it was a bit pricey at $115 per square foot, but is a top notch build quality with mostly upgraded materials and fixtures. Super stoked!
On another note, my office is near Windhaven and Plano Parkway in north Carrollton. Is 423 as fast as the Tollway? I know The Colony has a ton of lights that backup during rush hour.
