Remington moving 2k jobs to Alabama
According to this article, Remington will announce Monday an expansion into Alabama, creating 2,000 jobs there while reducing the size of their NY operation. The article says Remington began searching for a new location after passage of the NY SAFE Act, and that several states (Texas included) have been wooing Remington. I wish they were moving to Texas, but at least the estimated $87 million economic impact won't benefit New York!

Good Information! I hope all the firearms manufacturers move south into friendly territory.

Isn't this exactly what the progressives in New York wanted?
I'm not sure how much of a "victory" this really is.........

I don't know that they wanted to run off tax revenue...somebody has to pay for the socialist lifestyle. It is a victory in the sense that 1) it impacts voters through jobs and tax revenue, which could have an impact on elected officials if enough of the jobs and revenue leave the state; and 2) It is the fruition of the policies in which many people warned about. No theoretical outcome of what may happen....this did happen with a direct correlation to the law that caused it. The only question for me is, how many of these instances are needed to wake people up to their choices?sparkyfender wrote:Isn't this exactly what the progressives in New York wanted?

Friendlier communities, people that do not think guns are inherently evil, lets buyers buy a product made in a less union dominated state....What is not to like.

Alabama is growth driven. There's Mercedes Benz west of B'ham and Honda NE of B'ham and now Remington is coming to the state.
